Naomi Helm patting a standard groodle

Hi! I’m Naomi.

I live in the Illawarra region of NSW with my husband and 4 kids. I like to pretend that our suburban house block is part of the farm across the road, so I live with our two standard Groodle girls, backyard chickens and lots of veggie garden beds. I love to research and continuously learn and grow in the areas I'm passionate about. When I was considering becoming a Groodle breeder, I knew I wanted to be the absolute best breeder possible. I learned all about the requirements to become an ethical and responsible breeder including but not limited to DNA testing, hip and elbow scoring, temperament testing, genetic compatibility and all the other general care and necessities to produce the most outstanding puppies. I am a member of the National Groodle Association and attended their inaugural conference earlier this year where I had the opportunity to learn from industry experts and build a strong foundation of learning and collaboration with other ethical breeders. I love meeting and chatting to future puppy parents so reach out and let’s have a chat!

Journey to breeding

I was a registered midwife for 13 years before stepping down to care for my big family - 4 kids aged 15, 13, 10 and 6 years old. I have always loved dogs and fell in love with the oodle breeds when we got our first puppy, Millie, who was a Maltese x poodle = Moodle. After we had kids and as Millie started aging, we thought long and hard about what type of dog might suit our loud, active family, to add more playfulness and help ease the grief once Millie crossed the rainbow bridge. We discovered the Groodle breed and set about searching for the perfect girl. I already knew I wanted to use all my vast knowledge of birth to eventually start a breeding program with our family Groodle. With great mentorship by some ethical and responsible breeders, I am excited to transition my midwifery skills into helping whelp and raise well-adjusted, loveable, family centred Groodle puppies.

Our special touch

We love our girls. They are first and foremost part of our family. We raise our puppies in our loving, warm, nurturing home environment. We follow a curriculum of Early Neurological Stimulation to help ensure puppies develop a robust and resilient nervous system, so they can grow to become confident and adored members of your family.
